The article examines the integration of circular economy principles into the activities of social enterprises in the context of sustainable development and contemporary socio-economic challenges. Circular approaches in social entrepreneurship are becoming particularly relevant amid economic instability, environmental threats, and the growing societal demand for responsible business models.
The integration of circular approaches into the activities of social enterprises creates opportunities for the resource reuse, waste reduction, the development of environmentally responsible production, and the formation of new consumption models. This enhances the resilience of enterprises, strengthens local economic systems, and promotes the development of innovative socio-economic initiatives.
The results of the study demonstrate that the integration of circular economy principles contributes to the transformation of traditional business models into more sustainable and resource-efficient systems. In particular, the implementation of practices such as recycling, reuse, eco-design, and closed-loop production enables social enterprises to reduce costs, optimize resource consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
It has been established that the combination of social entrepreneurship and circular economy creates a synergistic effect, ensuring the simultaneous achievement of economic, social, and environmental goals. However, the study also identifies key barriers to implementation, including limited financial resources, insufficient institutional support, and lack of the specialized competencies. Despite these challenges, the integration of circular principles is defined as a strategic direction for increasing the efficiency and resilience of social enterprises.
The findings confirm that circular economy principles can significantly enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of social enterprises, contributing to long-term socio-economic development and environmental protection.
