Soil fertility conservation is a critically important task for ensuring the sustainable development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector of economy. Intensive land use, erosion, depletion of organic matter, and the negative impact of climate change lead to soil degradation, reducing of agricultural productivity and threatening of the country’s food security. Soil depletion results in significant economic losses due to declining yields, increased costs for agrochemical inputs, and the necessity of implementing the additional measures to restore agro-landscapes.

This article examines investment approaches to implementing environmentally safe land use technologies aimed at restoring and preserving soil. Particular attention is given to precision farming, cover crops, agroforestry, and bioremediation methods. The impact of zero and minimal tillage on the soil structure and water balance is explored, as well as the optimization of fertilizer and pesticide use to reduce chemical pressure on the environment. It is grounded that the introduction of modern digital technologies for soil monitoring enhances the efficiency of agro-resource management and enables the timely identification of land degradation risks.

The economic benefits of investing in the restoration of degraded lands are analyzed, demonstrating that such investments contribute to increased crop yields, reduced production costs, and improved environmental sustainability of agricultural production. The proposed measures can be effectively implemented with the support of the government programs, international grants, and private investment. Furthermore, the introduction of environmentally safe technologies reduces anthropogenic pressure on the environment, a crucial factor for Ukraine’s integration into global food markets and compliance with international environmental standards.

The research findings confirm that the comprehensive implementation of modern land-use methods will contribute not only to the conservation of natural resources but also to the economic efficiency of agricultural production. Soil fertility restoration and the application of environmentally friendly technologies are key factors for the stable development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector of economy, strengthening food security, increasing the competitiveness of domestic agricultural products, and creating the prerequisites for long-term ecological balance in agroecosystems.
