Annotation

The article substantiates the conceptual foundations for the strategic transformation of Ukraine’s agro-industrial complex based on the principles of the «green» economy. The research was conducted in the context of future post-war recovery, European integration processes, and global climate challenges. The relevance of the research is substantiated by the necessity to harmonize the domestic agricultural sector with the requirements of the European Green Deal and the «Farm to Fork» Strategy, as well as the need to transition from a raw material-based economy to a model with high ecological added value.

An analysis of the production indicators of Ukraine’s agro-industrial complex (hereinafter – AIC( for 2020-2024 was conducted. Structural shifts in crop production were revealed: the general decrease in the gross harvest of grain crops and sunflower in 2024 in comparison to 2020 and 2023 due to logistical and economic factors, but 137% increase in soybean production in 2024 compared to 2020 and 40% compared to 2023 were recorded, indicating the sector's adaptability to the changes in market conditions and fertilizer shortages.

The existing paradigm of the AIC functioning as a «raw material donor» on the global food market is critically assessed A comprehensive model of a «green» agro-industrial complex has been developed, based on the creation of ecological added value through the deep integration of biotechnologies, information technologies (hereinafter – IT), and renewable energy. The main components of the model are defined as: implementation of regenerative (carbon) farming: shifting to viewing soil fertility and accumulated carbon as financial assets, allowing farmers to profit from selling carbon credits on international markets; cascading biorefining: applying a multi-level approach where biomass is used first to obtain high-margin products (plant proteins, enzymes, bioplastics), and only residual fractions are used for biogas and fertilizer production; energy autonomy (agrivoltaics):the transforming farms into «prosumers» through the symbiosis of crop cultivation and solar energy generation, which is critical for community energy security; digitalization of eco-data: implementation of «green» digital passports based on Blockchain and eco-monitoring systems using artificial intelligence (hereinafter – AI).

It is concluded that the implementation of the proposed model into the AIC development strategy of Ukraine will allow Ukraine to transform into a global provider of eco-solutions, ensuring long-term economic efficiency and social stability of rural territories.
