The increasing complexity of supply logistics systems driven by digitalization, market globalization, and growing environmental uncertainty significantly reduces the effectiveness of traditional static route planning approaches. Volatile demand, unstable transport infrastructure, and logistical risks require decision-making tools capable for operating under dynamic conditions. In this context, decision support systems (hereinafter – DSS) play a key role in improving the efficiency and reliability of supply logistics management.
The purpose of the study is to develop a justification for the theoretical and methodological foundations of supply path optimization in decision support systems based on the use of economic and mathematical modeling, taking into account transportation costs, delivery time, and risk-oriented parameters.
The research employs methods of system and comparative analysis, economic and mathematical modeling, scenario-based analysis, and it analyzes algorithmic approaches suitable for their implementation in DSS. A generalized formalization of the supply logistics optimization problem is proposed, which allows for both routing-based and flow-based interpretations and can be integrated into decision support systems using real-time data. The role of real-time data is examined as a mechanism for adaptive route re-planning and reduction of information asymmetry.
The scientific novelty of the study lies in substantiating a comprehensive approach that combines multi-criteria route optimization, uncertainty factors, and economic evaluation of the results within decision support systems. The practical significance of the obtained results consists in their applicability for improving the economic efficiency of the enterprise supply logistics, reducing logistics risks, and substantiating the feasibility of investing in digital logistics solutions.
